Multiple sclerosis is one of the most common diseases in the nervous system that primarily affects young adults and especially women. He seems to have a preference for those of European origin and is more common among those living in northern latitudes. Although it does not seem to have a component Genetic making those with a family history more susceptible, the disease seems to strike most of the time, depending on your location and style life.

Characterized by symptoms such as loss of vision, slurred speech, numbness, difficulty walking, tremors, and paralysis, multiple sclerosis is a neurological disorder whose immune system attacks the myelin sheath surrounding the spinal cord, which insulates nerve fibers and helps nerves conduct electricity which is essential for all our bodily functions and senses.

Long before he has been appointed, multiple sclerosis has been described, in fact it was one of the first diseases to be described scientifically by physicians performing autopsies in 1838. In 1868, Jean-Martin was first described several symptoms of MS, while treating a young woman with the disease, in vain. Once she is dead Dr. Charcot did an autopsy and while examining his brain has been characteristic scars that we know today the September

Dr. Charcot wrote then wrote a full description of multiple sclerosis and all the physiological changes they observed. At this point in its history MS did not cause that could be perceived by physicians and have no clue as to how to start to treat.

In the late 1800's multiple sclerosis has been recognized as a disease specific and much of what is now aware of this disease has been observed and documented during this period. Doctors had clearly documented its many symptoms, he knew was more common among women than men and that this was not directly inherited.

New advances in knowledge of MS came in 1916 when Dr. James Dawson using new technology was sustainable use of a microscope and chemicals to observe Inflammation around the blood vessels and damage to myelin. Although this is the same knowledge that we use today, at the time the causes of these changes are not yet well understood.

While much has changed since the 19th and early 20th century and we now understand the process by which the Member States is going much better, work and knowledge of these physicians remain unchanged in hard invaluable.

I have benefited greatly from a book which has examined the link between what we eat and multiple sclerosis.
