There is a fundamental difference between the prevention of aging and delay aging. It is possible to prevent certain conditions which would otherwise age us early, but they would not actually break the barrier of the lifetime maximum, which is largely multi-factorial.
Aging is associated with loss or reduction of certain functions and many of the aging process are governed by a wide range of hormones, including human growth hormone (HGH). Taking human growth hormone and some other associated hormones has been shown to be effective against aging in some cases and for people to feel younger in some of the others. However, medical practitioners tend to recommend too use certain medications and supplements that have not stood the test of time and believe in theories rather than facts. This led to improper use of such supplements in desire of results that are sometimes almost impossible to achieve.
Normally, the age Advanced causes significant decrease in spontaneous secretion and stimulated GH, and the movement of IGF-I and IGFBP-3. In humans, both aging and hormone deficiency is associated with reduced protein synthesis, decreased lean body mass and bone, and increased percent fat body. Thus, aging is associated with reduced GH secretion, serum insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) and changes in body composition and function in GHD. This has led to numerous clinical trials to evaluate the effects of growth hormone older women and men.
Clinical trials, which were based on the similarities between aging and acquired deficiency of growth hormone (GDH), have reported some interesting results significantly. GH has been found to directly stimulate the division and multiplication of chondrocytes of cartilage which cells are primary growth ends long bones. It also stimulates production of insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) which has a stimulating effect on growth a wide variety of tissues, including osteoblasts and chondrocytes arising from the promotion of bone growth. This is obviously a significant increase retention of calcium and bone mineralization. HGH is known to increase muscle mass by increasing the number of cells in sarcomere and stimulates the growth All internal organs except the brain. It promotes the breakdown of fat stored in adipose tissue and plays a role in homeostasis fuel.
However, the overall effects of HGH, it is an attractive anti-aging agent because it stimulates the immune system, restores muscle loss, increased the thickness of the skin to reduce total body fat, improve bone density, skin tightness and moisture, speed and mental clarity, enhanced sexual function, elevated mood and energy levels, and increased ability to heal the wound.
There is a general concern, some experimental evidence that GH treatment in May increase risk of diabetes, especially in those with predispositions or those who were treated with higher doses. A survey of adults who had been treated with the corpses of GH replacement (which has not been used around the world since 1985) during childhood showed an incidence slightly increased colon cancer, but the link with the treatment of GH has not been established so far. Needless to say, much additional research are needed on the effects of growth hormone before active marketing as an anti-aging.
